A quick trip (under 4 hours)

If you have a free day in Kathmandu or a free morning and you want to do something adventurous and memorable, go on the Everest Base Camp helicopter tour. It is the shortest trip in the Everest region, and you can complete it in just four hours

Everest Base Camp helicopter tour

The Everest Base Camp helicopter tour is the quickest and most comfy way to travel in the Everest region. It is not just a helicopter flight; you also land at Lukla and Hotel Everest View. Moreover, you may land at Kala Patthar (subject to regulations).

The Everest Base Camp helicopter tour starts from Kathmandu and flies to Lukla. It will be around 45 minutes of flight. Here, a helicopter lands for around 15 minutes to refuel and continue the flight to Everest Base Camp. You will see all the villages on the mainstream EBC trail, like Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, etc.

Likewise, you will also see a grand view of the Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall. The mountain views are also stunning during the flight. If landing at Kala Patthar is allowed, you will be there for a maximum of five minutes.

Being at that altitude for over 5 minutes will increase the chance of altitude sickness, which is unsafe. After that, you will fly back to the Hotel Everest View and land here for a delicious breakfast. You will have half an hour to enjoy breakfast and return to Kathmandu.

The whole tour lasts around 4-5 hours. You will most likely start the tour in the early morning because the weather is best at this time. The Everest Base Camp helicopter tour is an ideal adventure for travelers with limited time and who can't go hiking.

Likewise, if you cannot trek because of health issues, a helicopter tour allows you to witness the heavenly beauty of Mount Everest closely and safely. We provide window seats to all participants. There is no age limit for the EBC helicopter tour. You can join us solo or with your loved ones.

Beginner friendly

Below, we have shared two beginner-friendly adventure packages in the Everest region. These packages are also recommended to trekkers who have completed previous trekking expeditions but have not reached Everest Base Camp yet.

Everest Base Camp trek

If we talk about a bucket list adventure, most people will say trekking to Everest Base Camp. And why not? It is one of the life-changing trips in the Himalayas that benefits you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

This trek is usually a 14 to 16-day trip in Nepal that starts in Kathmandu, the capital. From here, you will take the infamous Lukla flight and trek for multiple days through rhododendron-covered hills, Sherpa villages, and glacier moraines to reach Everest Base Camp, the lap of the tallest mountain in the world.

It is a difficult hike because of the rugged Himalayan terrain and constant ascends and descends. Hikers also have to adjust to changing elevations and deal with high altitudes. Likewise, given the adventurous and offbeat nature of the EBC trek, the services for the trekkers are simple and limited.

You will leave your digital world, junk foods, and procrastination behind and embark on a journey that demands you to break free from your limitations and push yourself. On the way, you will experience the mountain lifestyle and visit ancient monasteries.

Witness diverse landscapes and majestic views of tall Himalayan mountains. Connect to nature and your inner self. Unwind and rejuvenate. The more we talk about the Everest Base Camp trek, the more there is to share. Overall, it is one of the most famous adventures in the Everest region.

Everest base camp trek

Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return

The Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return is a shorter version of the standard 14-day itinerary. You will follow the same itinerary up to Kala Patthar. After enjoying the sunrise and mountain views from Kala Patthar, you will return to Gorak Shep.

Instead of continuing to descend to Pheriche, you will take a helicopter flight and fly back to Kathmandu. The EBC helicopter return trek saves you from three days of hiking, around 65 kilometers. You can complete the trek in just 11 to 12 days.

A helicopter flight also lets you witness the aerial view of the mountains and villages up close. It will be a very rewarding experience. The Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return is ideal for travelers on a short vacation or wanting to do the EBC trek differently.

Skipping the descent from Kala Patthar to Lukla definitely makes the Everest Base Camp trek more achievable and viable for those who are afraid of their physical abilities. Similarly, you will also escape from the nerve-racking take-off from Lukla Airport.

For experienced trekkers

The below packages are good for trekkers with strong fitness and previous trekking experience. These two treks are quite challenging.

Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Lakes

The Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Lakes is an extended version. On this trek, you will follow a different route onward to Namche Bazaar. Instead of trekking to Tengboche and Dingboche villages, you will follow an offbeat, less busy trail to Gokyo Valley via villages like Dole and Machhermo.

This route has many steep and rocky sections. You will also cross the Ngozumpa Glacier moraine, which is the biggest glacier in Nepal. In Gokyo Valley, you will spend a night in Gokyo Village and explore different Gokyo Lakes. Gokyo Lakes are a high-altitude freshwater lake system that ranges from 4,700 m to 5,000 m.

Likewise, you will also hike to Gokyo Ri (5,400 m/17,814 ft) to see a gorgeous sunrise and heavenly view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu, etc. From here onwards, the trek continues to Cho La Pass (5,420 m/17,782 ft). Yes, you will cross a high mountain pass following our Everest Base Camp trek with the Gokyo Lakes itinerary.

However, you also have an option to skip the pass. Crossing the pass will be challenging and very rewarding. Spend a night in Dzongla and hike to Everest Base Camp via Lobuche village and Gorak Shep. Enjoy a final ascend to Kala Patthar and trek back to Lukla.

The Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lakes trek is perfect for trekkers looking for a daring adventure in the Everest region. This version of the EBC trek is recommended to trekkers who are in good fitness and ideally have some previous high altitude/trekking expertise.

Gokyo Lake trek

The Gokyo Lake trek is a fantastic alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek in the Everest region. You do not have to do the EBC trek to enjoy Mt. Everest views, and you do not necessarily have to trek to EBC to have a lifetime experience in the Himalayas and witness breathtaking landscapes.

The Gokyo Lake trek offers a tranquil journey off the mainstream EBC trail. On this trek, you will explore pristine villages like Dole, Machhermo, and Gokyo village. The Gokyo Lake trek starts with the usual Lukla flight, and you will trek to Namche Bazaar following the standard route.

Spend an acclimatization day here and continue trekking to Dole instead of Tengboche village. Not many travelers choose this route, so you will enjoy a peaceful walk. The mountain views are also surreal in this part of the Everest region. You will enjoy offbeat trekking.

The trail is steep and rocky and crosses a glacier moraine before reaching Gokyo Village. While in Gokyo village, you will discover Gokyo Lakes and hike to Gokyo Ri. Not only that, but you can also visit the isolated Cho Oyu Base Camp, which the trekkers rarely visit.

After enjoying your time in Gokyo village, you will follow the same trail via Dole and Namche Bazaar to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. The Gokyo Lake trek is ideal for trekkers with previous hiking experience.

The ultimate adventure

Below, we have shared one of the ultimate adventures in the Everest region for travelers who want to step up their game in the Himalayas. We have introduced a trekking peak package. Yes, you will climb a 6,000-metre peak on this trip. Participants who want to join this package must have strong previous trekking experience and fitness.

Lobuche Peak Climbing

Lobuche Peak is a famous trekking peak in Nepal. Trekking peaks are considered beginner-friendly peaks with little to no technical climbing sections. These peaks are great for avid climbers who want to step into mountaineering.

You will test your strength and endurance, experience the true alpine environment, and see how much you can push your mind and body in extreme conditions. Lobuche Peak has two summits: East and West. Lobuche East Peak (6,119 m/20,075 ft) is the trekking peak and the most famous one.

Likewise, Lobuche West Peak (6,145 m/20,161 ft) is an expedition peak with many technical challenges. On the Lobuche Peak Climbing, you will summit the east peak. Climbing a peak is not an easy endeavor, even though it is called a trekking peak.

Participants must be physically and mentally strong and have previous high-altitude experience. While climbing the Lobuche Peak, you will learn a lot of climbing techniques and gear. Before heading to the summit, you will spend a night at Lobuche High Camp and traverse a 45° slope to reach the summit.

You can climb Lobuche Peak with or without hiking to Everest Base Camp and other parts of the Everest region, such as Gokyo Lakes. Our professional and expert Sherpa guides and porters will support the expedition, ensuring your safety in the mountains.
