Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return is a fantastic way to trek to the lap of Mt. Everest (8,849 m) and also enjoy the heavenly aerial panorama of the Himalayas. This trek is also called the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek because you stay overnight in the most lavish lodges of the Khumbu region during the trek and return to Kathmandu in a helicopter. You do not have to trek back on the same trail to Lukla (2,860 m) to end the journey.

The famous 14-day Everest Base Camp trek is almost 130 km. However, on the Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return, you only walk 65 km, and the rest is covered by the helicopter flight. Therefore, this trek is an ideal alternative for trekkers who are looking for a short EBC trek. Moreover, the Everest base camp trek and flying back by helicopter is comparatively easier too, so we recommend this trek to beginner trekkers.

Far away from the bustle of the modern city, you will embark on an adventurous venture following the foothills of the giant snowy mountains and dense forests of the Himalayas. The Everest Base Camp Heli trek route goes through the picturesque villages of the legendary Sherpas and passes through many ancient monasteries. The Everest Base Camp trek offers the perfect balance of adventure and cultural experience.

Our favorite views of Mt. Everest (8,849 m) and other Himalayan mountains like Nuptse (7,861 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Pumori (7,161 m), etc during the Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return are seen from Everest View Hotel (3,962 m), Tengboche (3,860 m), and Kala Patthar (5,644 m). As we have tailor-designed the Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return itinerary, you do not have to worry about acclimatization.

Witness the surreal beauty of the Khumbu region comfortably and lavishly on the Everest Base Camp Heli trek. Get to experience a very special adventurous voyage and make friends with the mountain people. No need to think twice. Get in touch with us to book the Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return.

Essential Information

Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return difficulty

Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return is an easy to moderate trek. Any healthy person with the determination to complete the trek can do this trek without any issues. No prior trekking experience or advanced physical fitness is required for this trek. Moreover, our Everest Base Camp trek with a helicopter return itinerary with ample rest days also keeps trekkers away from altitude sickness and makes the journey fantastic.

To prepare for the trek, all we recommend is some cardio activities like swimming, cycling, hiking, jogging, etc, to increase your stamina. One thing you have to be prepared for both mentally and physically is long walking. Every day, you have to walk for 5 to 6 hours.

Mode of transportation during the trek

The mode of transportation during the Everest Base Camp Heli trekking is the private car for airport pick up and drop off as per the itinerary. Likewise, we take a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and fly in a helicopter from Kala Patthar to Kathmandu.

Electricity and Charging Facilities

You will see no issues with charging your electronic devices during the EBC Heli trek. All the lodges have charging stations, which let you charge your device in return for a few extra bucks. Likewise, for a comfortable journey carry extra batteries if you love recording everything, or get a solar charger from an e-commerce site like Amazon.

SIM card and WiFi

During the Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return, you can use the internet almost everywhere. It may not be reliable and stable all the time, but you'll get it from time to time. The wifi service costs extra money and is not covered by the package cost, so carry spare money. We advise not to get obsessed with the internet and share the journey all the time but rather enjoy and live in the moment.

Luggage

A duffel bag and day pack is used during the trek. We request our guests to pack as light as possible and leave all unnecessary stuff in Kathmandu. You can store your additional luggage in the hotel's locker room. Pack all heavy clothing and necessities in the duffel bag, whereas your electronics, money, snacks, etc in the day pack. Duffel bag weight limit is 10 kgs for each trekker and day pack weight limit is 5 kgs per trekker.

Child policy

Everest Base Camp trek with helicopter return is a kid-friendly venture. We frequently see trekkers going on this trek with their kids without any issues. Our team will also make sure you and your child trek safely. If you are thinking of trekking to EB with your child, then get in touch with us and know more in detail about the precautions.

Tipping to crew, members,

If you are trekking in a group, we highly recommend tipping in a group. That way, the per-head amount gets low. It's not necessary, and you can tip as much as you want. Do not feel shy if our crew member approaches you for a trip because it's more like a tradition in Nepal. Our Everest Base Camp Trek with helicopter return package does not cover tipping, and it's up to travelers.

Personal expenses

During the Everest Base Camp Heli Trek, you may want to buy food and beverages out of offered meals. Extra snacks & drinks, wifi, hot shower, tips, and shopping are not included in our package cost. The travelers have to bear it by themselves, so we recommend budgeting USD 12 to USD 15 for each to spend during the trek. Some other things like travel insurance and international flights are also not covered in the package cost.

Insurance, Rescue, Evacuation

Everest Base Camp Trek with helicopter return does not need travel insurance. For backup, you can get one that covers medical bills and other stuff like baggage loss, flight cancelation, etc. Nepal issues minimal to no travel insurance to foreign travelers, so we request you take out travel insurance in your home country and send the details of the insurance to us.
