Climbing Yala Peak takes you into the Valley of Langtang, the home of the Tamang people. Apart from the plethora of Yeti tales originating in Nepal, this valley is home to Langtang National Park, one of the most beautiful regions of Nepal rich in flora and fauna. It is like a sanctuary of uncommon untamed wildlife like Himalayan black bear, red pandas, wild boar, snow leopard and the quaint long-tailed monkeys. Langtang Valley is home to some of the unspoiled pockets of nature in Nepal.

The trekking trail to Yala Peak extends through this region increasing your chances of seeing these creatures. In our course of summit, we set up a base camp at around 4,800 meters and make to the summit from a next similar camp. To summit the peak, we should beginning before dawn with stars twinkling against the night sky and return to the camp before noon. During the ascent of Yala Peak, you will have a comprehensive understanding of scaling a medium-sized peak. Our expert climbers will quickly teach you the techniques of climbing such a peak.

A six-hour drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche is the beginning of the journey. As soon as we begin on foot, we pass through a subtropical region with thick vegetation. As the trail makes gradual ascent thick woodlands of oak, rhododendron, pine and birch line our way. As we move up, snow-capped prairies and yak fields are found in abundance. If you happen to be here in the spring, you will witness the whole backwoods and fields look like blossom gardens as the rhododendron, edelweiss and gentians are in full blossom. Not to be missed in this trek is the famed Kyanjin Gumba. Additionally, Langtang Lirung (7,246 m) and Shisa Pangma, the most astounding peaks of Langtang region, can be seen from the summit of Yala Peak, which is the best vantage point of the region.

Yala Peak Climbing Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel

On the very first day of your arrival you will be received by a representative of Adventure White Mountain and he will transfer you to hotel. If you are not exhausted by your journey then you can roam around Thamel and have mini refreshment. Overnight in a hotel

Day 2

Preparation and Sightseeing

Today we are prepare for the climbing gears and get Yala Peak climbing permit from the government. We will also do a sightseeing tour of some places in Kathmandu Valley.

Day 3

Drive to Syabrubesi

Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, which takes about 7 hours. On the way we will pass through Trishuli River and from the bank of river we can see the fascinating view of Mt.Manaslu, terraces and beautiful green hills. Syabrubesi is a beautiful place where we stay overnight at lodge on full board meal.

Day 4

Trek to Lama Hotel

This morning you will see some scenic views with green terraced farmlands and mountains. Our trail descend to a suspension bridge and meets the trail at Pahiro. We then gradually climb to Bamboo and onwards to Rimche following the banks of Langtang river. Today, you will have chance to see bears, monkeys, and red pandas. Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 5

Trek to Langtang Village

The route ascends through rhododendron, oak, and pine forests. Through that forest we can see some peaks of Langtang range. We will also come across beautiful valleys with animals like yaks, cows, sheeps, goats, and horses grazing in the pasture. Langtang village is one of the oldest villages along this trekking trail.

Day 6

Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

It is an easy and short day of trek to Kyanjin Gompa, taking about three to four hours. Kyanjin is the last settlement of the Langtang valley. At Kyanjin, you can visit the cheese factory and monastery too. This is really beautiful valley with plenty of beautiful sights. Stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 7

Day of Acclimatization

While you are here you may want to explore the local area. It is possible to climb the small hill to the north of the village at a height of about 14,107 feet, for great views of Langtang Lirung, the Langtang glacier, and Kimshing peak with its glacier. To the south, a long ridge on top of which is the Ganja-La, a high pass to Helambu, is visible. Alternatively, a hike to Chergo-La gives you a great mountain view.

Day 8

Trek to Yala Peak Base Camp

It will take 6 hours to reach Yala Base Camp from Kyanjin Gompa. From the Base camp we can see the view of mountains like Naya Kanga, Tserko-Ri, and Yala Peak. Stay overnight at the camp.

Day 9

Summit Yala Peak

Early in the morning we start Yala Peak summit. From the top we can see fascinating views of Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kanga, Tserko-Ri, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung and other peaks. Later, return to Kyanjin Gompa and stay overnight at a lodge.

Explore around Kathmandu

On this day, you can go on interesting hilly places around Kathmandu Valley. If you want to do some cycling, you can visit one of the great routes around the valley. Later in the day you can do some shopping or drink and relax in the evening. You can also join a Nepali dinner with us.

Day 14

Airport Transfer

After breakfast or depending on your flight time, we will take you to the Airport for your flight back home.
