Limi Valley Trek Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu International Airport

On the very first day of your arrival you will be received by a representative of Adventure White Mountain and he will transfer you to hotel. If you are not exhausted by your journey then you can roam around Thamel and have mini refreshment.

Day 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing

On the second day you will visit Kathmandu, the city of temples. You will visit some World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa and Bauddhanath Stupa. Later, you will enjoy you stay in Thamel.

Day 3

Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

We take an hour’s flight to reach Nepalganj, a town in the Tarai lowlands of Nepal. We will spend time at the local market and at the hotel where where we will stay overnight.

Day 4

Fly to Simikot and Trek to Dhara Pokhari

We take a flight to Simikot. It is a scenic flight that shows you snow-capped peaks. Simikot is the district headquarters of Humla and begin the trek by following a rocky trail above the town of Simikot to arrive at Dandaphoya. From here we walk along a flat track, and pass through walnut and apricot trees to reach Dhara Pokhari where we stay for the night.

Day 5

Trek from Dhara Pokhari to Salli Khola

Today, we wake up early and immediately after breakfast, we start our trek. We cross long a slope to arrive at a waterfall near Chachera. From there we climb a ridge and cross the village of Kermi and enter into the valley. We further walk through pine forests and descend to arrive at Salli Khola where we set up camp for the night.

Day 6

Trek from Salli Khola to Muchu

At first we cross a river and start climbing a ridge and then follow a descending trail. We cross yet another ridge and arrive at a sandy meadow. From there we cross a few more ridges and pass through the villages of Yalbang and Yangar before crossing a suspension bridge to arrive at Muchu. At Muchu we set up camp for the night.

Day 7

Trek from Muchu to Sipsip

Today we walk over a ridge and arrive at Tumkot Khola. We walk in rocky bed for some time followed by a steep climb. We pass a village called Palbang and Yari. From here we have to climb up towards the pass of Nara Lagna. We set up camp in a meadow of Sipsip for the night.

Day 8

Trek over Nara-La Pass (4,325m) and Camp at Hilsa

It is a steep climb today. We ascend to the height of 4,325 m at Nara-La Pass and descend the rough trail to Karnali River. We set up camp at Hilsa, the starting point of Limi Valley.

Day 9

Trek from Hilsa to Manepeme

As soon as we pass through the check post at Hilsa, we follow a path which meets the main trail connecting Sher to Limi Valley. We head northeast looking into Humla-Karnali River. While the trail is full of ups and downs, the views of the mountains are sure to mesmerize you. You might even see a snow-leopard on the way. We stay for the night at Manepeme, a place with a huge rock with carved mantra inscriptions.

Day 10

Trek from Manepeme to Til

Today we walk in and out of ravines, climb towards foot of rock and descend along the trail. As we arrive at a stream, we spend some time there and get going on a descending trail crossing a slope. We then climb a couple of rocky ridges and descend to chortens that mark the end of the ridge above Til-Chu. Here you will have great views of Til Gompa. We descend further to arrive at a confluence of Takchi-Chu and Til-Chu where we set up camp for the night.

Day 11

Trek from Til to Limi

In the morning we cross Takchi-Chu river and walk until we arrive at the village of Halji. Here we visit the Rijziling Gompa which is said to be built a thousand years ago. Later we walk ahead to Sunkhani and on to Limi where we stay for the night.

Day 12

Trek from Limi to Yang

Today it is a rocky walk with lots of up and downs. We leave Limi with their people who are known for hand-crafting. wooden bowls from pine, birch and maple trees from across the river. We further take an uphill climb before arriving at a hot-spring where we set up camp for the night.

Day 13

A Day of Rest in Yang

Today we spend for acclimatization by resting and enjoying the local surroundings with great views of the Himalayas, rivers and local culture. The simplicity of the people here will fascinate you. You might even buy some wooden bowls that they craft by their own hands. Stay overnight in Yang.

Day 14

Trek from Yang to Talung

We feel refreshed after a day of acclimatization, and begin our trail with a short climb to Talung. It is an abandoned village. With hot springs on the way, you might get tempted to take a short break. We walk for a couple of hours to arrive at our camping site for the night.

Day 15

Trek in the Valleys and Camp at Dhingba

Today we will have a comparatively strenuous walk. We will cross three passes namely Pali-La, Kuki-La and Sechi-La. We walk for most of the a day so we will be tired but beautiful views of mountains will reward us with bliss. mesmerizing. We arrive at Dhingba where we halt at night.

Day 16

Trek from Dhingba to Yakba

Today it is an easy and short trek to Yakba. While the walk is pleasant today you will also enjoy the scenic views todays. We spend the night here in Yakba.

Day 17

Trek from Yakba to Simikot

Today it is a long walk to Simikot. We will pass through several ridges and follow the trail up and down before arriving at Simikot. Although it is tiring day, the weather is pleasant and the beauty of the trail will fascinate and refresh you. Later in the day we will stop at Simikot for the night.

Day 18

Fly from Simikot to Nepalgunj to Kathmandu

From Simikot we will catch a flight to Nepalgunj and again we will take a connecting flight to Kathmandu. You can spend the rest of the day in Thamel and join a dinner hosted by us. After dinner, you will return to the hotel.

Day 19

Airport Transfer

Finally your Limi Valley Trek ends here. A representative of Adventure white Mountain will drop you to Airport few hours before your booked flight. See you again!
