Ghale Gaun Trek Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will meet you at the Airport and take you to your hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about your activities during the trek.

Day 2

Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural center of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists. After breakfast, you will visit some UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later in the day, you will relax at your own pace.

Day 3

Drive to Besi Sahar (820 m) and trek to Khudi Village (790 m)

This day will mark the beginning of your trek. After breakfast, you will be driven to Besi Sahar, 180 km northwest of Kathmandu. The drive takes around 6 to 8 hours on a tourist bus. From there, you will trek along the trail to Pam Khola. Later, you will move to the village of Denali. This trail offers lots of scenic views of the Marshyangdi river, paddies, and subtropical forests before arriving at Khudi, a Gurung village.

Day 4

Trek from Khudi to Ghale Gaun

After breakfast, you will walk along the banks of Khudi River passing waterfalls and several villages. From there, four to five hours of the walk will take you to Ghale Gaun. The first thing you will notice from here is the picturesque view of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Manaslu. You can also have a spectacular sunrise and sunset views from here.

Day 5

Explore Ghale Gaun

After breakfast, you will hike around Ghale gaun. You will find that most of the houses are built in the similar style of architecture with uniquely carved windows. You can also visit a Buddhist Gompa in the village. In the evening you can enjoy Nepalese cultural programs full of song and dance and merry-making.

Day 6

Trek from Ghale Gaun to Ghanapokhara

Leaving Ghale Gaun, our trail passes through noisy rhododendron forests and hissing waterfalls and again some hilly terraces of paddies. You will later reach the quaint village of Ghanapokhara. This village is also inhabited mostly by Ghales.

Day 7

Trek to Baglungpani

After breakfast, the trail crosses the Midim River via a suspension bridge. You will then have to climb Khumre Danda before descending to Pasgaun. On the way, you can visit a Buddhist Gompa.

Day 8

Trek from Baglungpani to Laxmi Bazaar

On this day your trail makes a steep descent to Rudi river by crossing a suspension bridge. Along with Trek from Baglungpani to Laxmi Bazaar (1,300 m)

the way you can have spectacular views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

Day 9

Trek to Begnas Lake (884 m) and drive to Pokhara

After breakfast, you will trek downhill to Lake Begnas in Pokhara, where you will enjoy boating or relaxing by the lake. Later, catch a bus to Pokhara and check into the hotel on the lakeside.

Day 10

Sightseeing in Pokhara

Being the beautiful place that Pokhara is, we recommend you to stay a day here exploring the lake town. Visit Lake Fewa and the Temple of Barahi located in the middle of it. From there you could visit Devi’s Fall, Cave, Mountain Museum and return to the hotel after dinner.

Day 11

Catch a flight or drive to Kathmandu

Today after breakfast, you will either take a flight to Kathmandu or will drive to Kathmandu on a tourist bus.

Day 12

Airport transfer
