    Tilicho Lake Trek difficulty

Tilicho Lake Trek's difficulty is moderate to challenging. The isolation of the region from the rest of the country has made the overall trek more difficult than it should be. Of course, the trail is rugged and has numerous ascends & descends throughout the trek. You have to be able to walk 6 to 7 hours a day. There are many steep sections too.
Along with that, the bare minimum facilities and high elevation add up to the difficulty level of Tilicho Lake Trekking. You have to be careful of altitude sickness and its symptoms. Trekkers usually suffer from altitude sickness during high elevation ventures if their bodies do not acclimate properly.

Read below to know more about altitude sickness and its symptoms:

    Symptoms of altitude sickness

During the Tilicho Lake Trek, you will take a long drive from Kathmandu to the starting point of the trek. All the ground transportation as per the Tilicho Lake Trek itinerary is done through our private car or tourist van. We also offer airport pick up and drop service.

    Electricity & Charging Facilities

The electricity and charging facility during the Tilicho Lake Trekking is good. Every lodge or teahouse has its charging stations that you can use to charge your devices, paying a few extra bucks. Similarly, many trekkers carry a solar charger or bank with them. Spare batteries will also come in very handy.

    Sim Card & WiFi

Internet service may not be stable all the time because of high elevation and fluctuating weather. You may get WiFi service at the lower elevation. If you want, we can help you get a Nepali Sim card with data to use the internet during the trek. Even cellular data may not have a good connection all the time.

    Luggage

We will give you the packing list that will help you to buy or rent trekking clothing and gear. During the Tilicho Lake Trek, we use a duffel bag to pack all the heavy clothing and essentials. The duffel bags are carried by the porters. Every trekker has a weight limit of 15 kgs. Usually, trekkers store their excess luggage in the hotel's locker room while trekking.

    Child policy

Child policy for high-altitude trekking may differ from one individual to another. Even though treks like this are not recommended for a child, he/she still may pursue it under the guidance of a verified guardian. Trekking in the Himalayas for a child depends on his/her health condition, fitness, and experience. Get in touch with us to know more in detail about the Tilicho Lake Trek child policy.

    Insurance/rescue/evacuation

Tilicho Lake trekking is a high-altitude trek, therefore we always recommend getting travel insurance. Even though you will be trekking with the best guide, the crisis may take place during the trek. Because you are trekking in a remote area, the only way we can provide you with emergency medical assistance in the worst case is through air evacuation. So, make sure your travel insurance has air evacuation and medical bill coverage.
