Sharing a border with Tibet, Langtang lies in the north of Kathmandu. Langtang Region is inhabited by the Tamang people, as they are the natives of this place. The region is enveloped by Langtang National Park. The park is home to several animals, and among them, the Himalayan black bear, Himalayan Thar, and rhesus monkey are easily visible.
The park is also home to the red panda, an endangered species on Earth. Besides mountains, there are lots of lakes in this area, and due to this reason, the importance of Langtang Region Trekking has excelled. More than 100 lakes are found here, of which Gosaikunda Lake is a very popular one as it has religious significance. Gosaikunda, Helambu, and Langtang Valley Trek are popular trekking destinations of the Langtang Region. The region is well known for the Hyolmo culture, the culture of the Tamang people.
